RISE- the film
RISE is a short film (2023). It portrays the astounding beauty of our natural world. It highlights our broken relationship within nature but simultaneously demonstrates the many solutions and initiatives around the world that are tackling climate change. The human race is destroying our planet as we know it, but we also hold the answers to save it.
The narrative is communicated through powerful imagery, song, poetry and rap music written and performed by teenagers. The film ends with a direct message from the leader of the Noke Koi nation from the Amazon, delivered by a child from the UK.

On The Brink Arts Logo
Our first artistic engagement with young people was in May 2022. We launched a competition at the Beltane Festival to design our CIC logo and this is the fantastic result! Congratulations to Rhys Reynolds - we love it!
Project RISE!
RISE film is the kickstarter to Project Rise.
Working with young people, our facilitators run creative workshops that respond to themes from the film. This work will develop over several weeks and there will be collaborative designs that culminate in large-scale, public art, such as sculpture installations, murals and live performances.
The project workshops will pilot in Gloucester and tour the UK.

We ran our first workshops at a small festival this Spring 2023. The children engaged with the issues around climate change by making their own art, and loved the chance to go free range with the paint!
We are planning art workshops in Stroud over the summer, before moving the project to Gloucester to begin the project which will run to summer '24.
