Founded in 2021 by Megan Medley, On the Brink Arts is connecting with different communities across Gloucestershire to engage with issues surrounding the environment and climate change through film, art and music.
We aim particularly to reach out to young people who are disengaged, depressed and anxious about their future. Empowering young people by encouraging imagination and creativity Inspiring positive climate action from the ground up.
Events
RISE in Bristol
The most recent event we have produced was at Lost Horizons Art Centre in Bristol, celebrating the immense talent of the youth of Bristol and beyond! We invited young people to get up on stage and voice their frustrations about the environmental and social injustices that are happening in their world in vocal performances of spoken word, song and rap.
RISE
This short film RISE will be a catalyst to the upcoming- Project Rise. Workshops will be run in response to the film, engaging with young people and giving them a creative channel to express the issues around climate change and how its effecting their mental health. The film, and the project, aims to build resilience and help communities adapt to changing economic and environmental landscape. The ideas will develop and culminate into large scale public art, such as a mural and sculpture exhibitions, and live performances. The project will start in Gloucester and tour the UK.
